My paintings are now available in Toronto!
" Framed Life" is a gallery that features canadian artists and is now carrying my work. If you are in that area stop in and have a look.
These grey days I am particularly grateful for my dream job. The flexibility of the hours allows me time to be outside, running with my dog in the woods, listening to, and watching the birds. This provides inspiration and a release of much needed endorphins! In the studio afterwards working with the colour is absolute therapy. I find I am absolutely craving colour in my life, even more so as I get older. Wearing brightly coloured clothes and having colour on our walls and around our homes can really provide a boost.
Hope you are managing to find ways to stay "up" throughout this long dark winter!

Comox Valley Dwellings
December 01 2009
A couple of weeks ago I received a call from Bethany Pearce of Comox Valley Dwellings, asking if I would like to be interviewed for a feature on her blog about original artworks. The process was not only painless, it was actually highly enjoyable and informative. Bethany has a background working in a high end commercial art gallery and is passionate about art herself. I would like to share the article and her very creative site with you. Feedback is welcome!
Wishing you and yours a very merry holiday season!
Cheers,
Lucy
Great Big Sea
September 12 2009
The compelling seascape that i am witness to now on a daily basis has found its way into my work. I have been obsessed with water and things that swim and move about in it for the past many months. A once in a lifetime adventure to the Galapagos Islands this summer has also helped to fuel my fire. I love the sense of mystery and movement that the sea holds, the possibility for coming upon the most alien and exotic creatures and the connectedness of it all below the surface. It is a subject that I once felt I would never attempt to portray, being a prairie girl, but it is big and strong and its pull is tremendous, a force so much greater than me. I am delighted to have been invited to exhibit this new work at the Blue Moon Estate Winery at Nature's Way farm for the month of October in conjunction with their Oyster Extravaganza Full Moon dinner. Hope you can make it out there!
